Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s music played a MAJOR role in my life, and I was a big Led Zeplin, AC/DC fan along with Guns & Roses, Poison, and Bon Jovi, and yes the best Rock band of all times! Van Halen!
But I also loved POP, R&B acts like The BeeGees who are my favorite pop singing group ever, and acts like The Beatles, The Jacksons, and heck I even liked of “The Monkeys” growing up. But with all that to the side when I first heard RAP music especially RUN-DMC, and NWA, and Digital Underground, Public Enemy and so on I became a fanatic to RAP MUSIC. Then came Tupac from Digital Underground and when his first cd “2Pacalypse Now” first hit I was there to buy it. I was a fan from day 1 of his… “Trapped” & “Brandas Got a baby” were songs which really made me appreciate his talent.
But when I got into Highschool I went to Miami Coral Park, and there I hung out mostly with break dance kids, hip hop heads, and what not but my best friends at the time were 3 rockers. Believe it or NOT! Carlos, Gary, and Mario… These 3 guys became my best friend for decades I still speak to Gary, and Mario til today, and consider them still part of my extended family. Sadly Carlos and I don’t speak anymore since 2017 because he was mad at me for being a Trump supporter… So go figure politics ruined that friendship.
But it was Mario who was a big influence in me learning about “Marilyn Manson” who was still new on the scene, and when I saw his videos while pretty gross I did like the music, and the overall tone of what he was saying, and he’s an awsome vocalist. Remember I enjoy ALL music. So over the last 3 decades I’ve been a big Manson fan also thanks to my friend Mario who showed me his work years, and years ago.
Now let’s fast foward to 2021 and what just started to out about the rock icon who’s real name is Brian Hugh Warner, but again is best known professionally as Marilyn Manson. He’s not just an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, painter, and writer. He is known for his controversial stage personality and image as the lead singer of the band of the same name, which he co-founded with guitarist Daisy Berkowitz in 1989 and of which he remains the only constant member.
Like the other founding members of the band, his stage name was formed by combining and juxtaposing the names of two opposing American cultural icons: a sex symbol and a serial killer; in Manson’s case, actress Marilyn Monroe and criminal Charles Manson.
Now he’s known as being a weird dude, and he once dated for a long time the #MeeToo movement leader, and actress Rose McGowan who I’m a big time fan of also, and love her work and she even has come out since these new alligations, and said that about the abuse allegations: ‘I stand with Evan Rachel Wood’
So there is a lot of things that over the years have come out about Mansons lifestyle, and he would be deeply involved into drugs, and sex but now it’s come out that he’s become abusive to not just other women but maybe even men. Corey Feldman is one of the one’s who has come out against Manson recently talking about his time dealing with Manson.
So with this latest stuff he was removed from ‘American God,’ ‘Creepshow‘ roles following abuse allegations and longtime manager Tony Ciulla also quit representing Manson following the abuse allegations being made.
Ciulla‘s decision to quit representing Manson was apparently prompted in part by “Westworld” actress Evan Rachel Wood naming Manson as the previously anonymous abuser she referenced while testifying before the California Senate in relation to the state’s Phoenix Act, which extends the statute of limitations on domestic violence from three years to five.
On Monday, Wood claimed in a social media post that Manson “groomed” and “horrifically” abused her for years. After she shared her accusations, at least four other women posted their own allegations against the singer. The women claimed to have endured “sexual assault, psychological abuse, and/or various forms of coercion, violence, and intimidation” at the hands of Manson.
“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how and why others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
Most recently, Game of Thrones actor Esmé Bianco detailed truly harrowing behavior to the The Cut, claiming that Manson, a “monster who almost destroyed me and almost destroyed so many women,” lacerated her with a knife, lashed her with whips, and used an electric sex toy called a Violet Wand on her wounds the same kind of “torture device” Wood said was used on her. After a month of living together, Bianco said she left after Manson chased her with an ax.
As a result of those allegations of sexual assault and abuse, Manson has been dropped from his record label, AMC, and CAA. And according to Variety, California State Sen. Susan Rubio has requested the FBI investigate the allegations against Manson, as well.
Later on, Manson issued a statement where he denied the abuse accusations leveled against him, writing on his official Instagram page that:
